Acoustic guitar is excellent background music for events like proposals, weddings, cocktail parties, meetings, and more. It has a soft sound, so it will not overtake the conversation, but gives your guests something to listen to and watch. Being a small, portable instrument with a battery powered amplifier, the guitar can be played indoors, outside, in large space, or in a small one! The portable nature of the instrument makes it a great choice for surprises like proposals. Check out my various musical sets below:
I play instrumental classical music from all over the world and the span of time. You will hear romantic Spanish guitar, Brazilian music to get your feet tapping, Baroque to stimulate the ears and mind, and nostalgic classical favourites. Some of the pieces I play will be recognizable to your guests, like: Asturias, La donna e mobile, and Spanish Romance (even if you don't know the names, you will recognize the tunes). Much of the music will be beautiful and new to average listener, so that it provides a rich and elegant atmosphere for your party or event. Your guests will also enjoy watching my fingers work in this virtuosic music.
I play arrangements of popular music new and old. From Elvis to Ed Sheeran, I play pop hits to get your guests humming along. Filled with familiar songs of love and joy this is a great set for a wedding. The music will get your guests talking and fill the air with love. This set is also a great choice for parties, meetings, and company events if you want inspire a more casual atmosphere.
Similar to the popular music set, but with singing! From my years of teaching guitar I have developed a huge repertoire of songs to sing and play. I can stick to the oldies of the 60s and 70s, nostalgic hits from the 90s and 2000s, or todays radio hits! I also bring along my ukulele to mix it up. This is a great option for proposals, especially if you have special song in mind!
This set includes jazzy and classical arrangements of Holiday songs paired with the music of Bach and contemporaries. The cozy, warm, and nostalgic feeling of Christmas music pairs very nicely with the beautiful music of the Baroque era.
If your event has multiple phases, like a wedding, where you might have music before and after the ceremony, I can switch sets to match the mood. You might want classical music as your guests are arriving, pop instrumentals for the signing and photos, and some singing at dinner.
Two guitars are better than one! Matt Silverman and Sara Wazani form the guitar duo Wazaman. We play music from all over the world and the span of time from Bach to Pink Floyd. See us live in concert around the Lower Mainland of B.C. or book us for your event.
